Der Lexus GS (UZS161, JZS160) wurde von 1997-2000 produziert. In Japan lautete die Bezeichnung für das Fahrzeug " Toyota Aristo". Das Design dieser Fahrzeuge wurde von dem japanischen Automobilkonzern Toyota selbst entwickelt. 2000 wurde der GS eine Modellpflege unterzogen und bekam einen neuen Kühlergrill und neue Scheinwerfer, optional mit Xenonlicht. Die Motorenpalette umfasste Ottomotoren 3,0-4,3 Liter. Für den Twin-Turbo stand ein Automatikgetriebe mit manueller Eingriffsmöglichkeit zur Verfügung.
